Artist statement

I create openly challenging and engaging work by using material-led artistic research to explore the fold as a site of transformation and interconnectedness. Intuitively introducing complex origami surfaces and ideas of ‘non-knowledge’ that must be experienced directly allows me to think and communicate in this way. This trans-disciplinary approach offers endless collaborative possibilities in a growing range of fields that so far includes sculpture, architecture, robotics, dance, skateboard performance, and sound composition. Co-authoring a number of papers around this subject, folded origami surfaces continue to inspire me on a range of visual, scientific, and philosophical levels.
