Adam Gibney

Adam Gibney is a Dublin based artist who graduated with a First Class honors from IADT Dun Laoghaire in 2010. Adam was the recipient of several awards including the Aileen MacKeogh Award (awarded to the most outstanding, creative student in IADT) and the Siamsa Tíre Emerging Artist Award.
He has exhibited both nationally and internationally. Adam’s most recent solo exhibitions include Projective Verse 9: Deep Breadths (Daegu Foundation of Culture, Daegu, 2017)and Euclid, I miss you…(Artbox, Dublin, 2016). Other recent and notable exhibitions include Scaffold (The Bomb Factory, London, 2019), The Voyage (CB1 Gallery, Los Angeles,2016) and Futures (Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin, 2014). In 2016, Adam represented Ireland in the V Moscow Biennale for Young Art – Deep Inside.
In 2019, Adam launched his first public art project, Your Seedling Language, in St. Catherine’s School, Rush, Co. Dublin. He is currently working towards a solo exhibition, Radical Apparatus, for The Oonagh Young Gallery and a public art commission for Fingal County Council’s Infrastructure programme.

 

Adam took part in the Graft project in 2021. Graft, which was developed and curated by the National Sculpture Factory and the Glucksman, commissioned five artists to create new temporary sculptural interventions in Cork City. Designed to transform, disrupt and celebrate the existing built environment, the project brought a temporary cultural transformation to Cork’s urban realm inviting the public to view the new artworks at a safe distance as offered by outdoor presentations.
